Role Play of the Month: February
Posted by Lena Deveraux on 3/8 7:03:56 (8 Comments)

Most people, when thinking of Valentine's Day, imagine love or friendship. That was not the case in the RP titled appropriately Love? I don't think so. which is Role-Play of the Month for February. This was an interesting read about a conversation between Nellwyn Silvers, Elissa Galivare, and Jonathan Tate.

Runner-up goes to It's a lovely day to float away
In a entertaining thread two young Gryffindors, Shaya Raghu and Casey Decker, meet out on the chilly turf of the Quidditch Pitch. Maybe things will warm up between the two even in the freezing weather!

Second runner-up is If I had a world of my own, Everything would be nonsense
A charming thread from Alana Pryce, Gabriel Emery and Marigold Kircaldy, where two friends meet at the ball with wicked intentions and humorous results.

And the House Cup Goes to...
Posted by Silvanus Bevan on 3/4 0:53:29 (13 Comments)

With the end of term, it is now time to announce the House Cup winners. After being behind for most of the term, Ravenclaw has managed to crawl back from its last place position at the start of the term to win the House Cup for a third term running.

Congratulations, Ravenclaw for a gallant effort this term. I am sure that your Head of House is very proud of you lot.

However, Ravenclaw was not the only house to do well this term. All of the houses have worked hard to earn points, so I would like to offer my congratulations to Gryffindor, Slytherin and Hufflepuff for putting up a good fight and keeping Ravenclaw off the top spot for most of term.

Also, as you know, each term all the Professors pick out one person in their class who has handed them in great homework. This term is no exception. The following people have received a prize for being the student that the professors thought were the most outstanding in their class this term:

  • Quidditch/Flying - Jagger Zane
  • Muggle Studies - Florence Dingleby
  • Charms - Ella Redwing
  • Ancient Runes - Sebastian Quinn
  • Divinations - Sebastian Quinn
  • Herbology - Gold Milan
  • History of Magic - Natalie Hexings
  • Astronomy - Jordan Bauer
  • DADA - James Corner
  • Transfigurations - Earl Coroni

Congratulations to all of you and well done to everyone who did their homework this term. If you missed out on homework, do not worry. Next term there will be plenty of homework for you all to earn house points and try to earn an award for.

Enjoy your break, you lot.

End of term
Posted by Silvanus Bevan on 3/1 0:02:21 (14 Comments)

Yet another term has come to the end and classes have officially been closed. With the close of the term, I would like to bid farewell to two of our professors. Mr. Luke Cross is resigning as Divination Professor and Ms. Aislia Silvain is resigning as Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor. Mr. Cross is moving on to do some study away from Hogwarts, and Ms. Silvain has taken a job as an Auror with the Ministry of Magic.

With these resignations, I would like to announce that Professor Seraphinus Aterlucis will be stepping into the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor leaving his Astronomy position open. I would also like to announce that Professor Lena Deveraux has resigned as Charms Professor, but will be staying on as Head of Ravenclaw and Graphics.

I would like to wish the best of luck to both Luke and Aislia with their future endeavours away from the school.

With the resignation of members of our staff, we have now opened up Professor Applications once again. If you wish to apply for a position on the staff then please fill out this form here. Applications for Professor close Friday 26th of March at 11.59 pm, LA time. Good luck to all those who apply.

Also, with the end of this term, I would like to bid a farewell to our current Head Boy, Jye Grimwade, who is graduating moving on to a job in the Ministry. He will be replaced by Slytherin Male Prefect, Jagger Zane and Florence Dingleby will be stepping into the position of Prefect. Best of luck, Jye and congratulations Jagger and Florence.

Now, I would like to thank everyone who submitted homework this term, your contribution has been rewarded in the form of house points. The house cup winners will be announced in a couple of days so that the professors can mark the last of your homework.

Just as we have done every term break, year up applications are now opened. They can be found here. The year up applications will be opened until Friday, 26th of March at 11.59, LA time.

Student voting forms are also now opened. This is so that you can decide who you think is the awards should go to. The form for voting can be found here. Please note that if you vote for yourself, the vote will not be counted.

Right, that is about it, you lot. Enjoy your term break and good luck to all those applying. Also, one final note. Platform 9 and 3/4 is now open for you all to RP in. Have fun.

The LA staff wishes to warmly welcome you all
To the Hogwarts 2010 Valentine's Day Ball
Enter, enjoy, grab hold of the moment and dance
Let your heart be a-flutter with love and romance

As you all can see, the Valentine's Day Ball is now open! The secret to going there and the hidden key is to read the directions and directly you will be directed in the right direction or, in other words, simply press the button located underneath the Great Hall Banner.

It doesn't matter if you have a date, if you are alone, hoping to meet your fate, or if you simply don't believe there's an atom of meaning in it. We're all mad here and we welcome everyone, no matter the shape and size, no matter if you have claimed a character or not. You are all invited to role-play your part of the story and plot.

We have many contests for you to join in with many prizes that you could win, so be brave and dive into the rabbit hole or through the looking glass take a stroll, we have a world of our own here, where everything is nonsense, so have no fear.

And just like every year, Cupid's Little Helper has opened the doors to his special Valentine's Day Store, so you can buy gifts for the special someone whom you adore.

Because of the recent problems, crashes and delays, the Ball will close on the 6th of March (11:59 pm LA time). So you lot have enough days to party, dance and fall in love.

And always remember and keep in mind:

Love is like swallowing hot chocolate before it has cooled off.
It takes you by surprise at first, it might even burn you a little, but in the end, it keeps you warm for a long time.

Role Play of the Month - January
Posted by Silvanus Bevan on 2/1 5:25:08 (7 Comments)

It is once again the end of a month and with it I am here to announce the winners of the Role Play of the Month as decided by the lovely minions Student Staff of Slytherin house.

January's winning Role Play is: The evening tea with Ella Redwing and Bella Wood. A charming and revealing reunion between the Gryffindor Captain and Co-Captain over biscuits and tea.

Our runner ups for January are: Lasers! Pew Pew! with Gold Milan and Ilijania Wal. And: A Blast From the Past with Professor Arwen Claythorn and Professor Seraphinus Aterlucis.

The first is an interesting RP about two first years, separated by their allegiances, who begin a duel of insults and wands. And the second is a fabulous RP regarding two Professors meeting again after several years, with a very nasty result.

Congratulations to winners and well done to everyone who role played over the past month.

New Professor Hired
Posted by Arwen Claythorn on 1/21 23:22:24 (26 Comments)

As you all know, there were two Professor positions that needed to be filled up. Because of this, the Applications were opened for 2 weeks and now it is time to announce the result of this.

There was a surprising amount of Applicants that all were looked at and studied very closely yet only one has caught our eye. This Application was so impressive we could not pass by hiring them.

So Congratulations to Seraphinus Aterlucis your new Astronomy Professor. Good luck to you in your new position and do not lose hope for the future.

Although we had many good Applications for CoMC, we just could not decide on who would be the right choice. Therefore, we thought it best to give all candidates a bit more time to grow and are leaving the position open.

So this position will be open at the end of term once more for all to apply. Hopefully this time around, people will have more time to make their Application that much more special

A New Head Girl
Posted by Silvanus Bevan on 1/16 3:35:13 (21 Comments)

Congratulations to you, Miss Silvers. I am sure you will do a wonderful job. Also, congratulations to Miss Belle, and I wish you the best of luck with your future in the Ministry.
